Detektivky a krimi mám docela ráda. Ostatně taky právě proto jsem neváhala, když se v našem knihkupectví ve zlevněných knihách objevilo pár svazků série Kočičí krimi od Lilian Jackson Braun.
I like the detectives and crimes. That's also why I did not hesitate when a couple of volumes of the Cat Crime series from Lilian Jackson Braun appeared in our bookstore in discounted books.
Sérii mám rozečtenou už několik let, k tomu se chtě nechtě musím přiznat. Nejdřív jsem na ni pravidelně chodila do knihovny, pak jsem si na čas dala pauzu a našla jsem si jiné knihy, které mě zaujaly. Na Kočičí krimi jsem ale pořád v dobrém vzpomínala.
I have been running the series for several years, I want to admit it. At first I went to her library regularly, then paused for a while and found other books that caught me. But I still remember the Cat crimes.
Teď jsem se vrátila k životu novináře Qwilla a jeho geniálních kočičích společníků Koka a Yum Yum. Ze svazků, které jsem si přinesla, jsem začala knihou Kočka, která mluvila s duchy. Poměrně tajemnou a strašidelné už od první stránky.
Now I have returned to the life of journalist Qwill and his brilliant cat companions Koko and Yum Yum. From the volumes I brought, I started with the book, The Cat, who spoke with spirits. Relatively mysterious and spooky from the first page.
Qwilla někdejší bytná a hospodyně mu v noci volá, že má pocit, že má v domě ducha a bojí se tam. Jako pravý gentleman jí nabídne, že za ní přijede a pomůže jí. Jeho pomoc však dorazí pozdě, Iris Cobbová umřela na infarkt dřív, než s ní stihl osobně promluvit. Jak se ale zdá, jeho známá byla zavražděna. Nic kromě Qwillových domněnek tomu nenapovídá. Od téhle chvíle je novinář odhodlaný přijít záhadě na kloub a spolu s kočkami se nastěhuje do osiřelého domu.
Qwill´s former homeowner and housekeeper, calls him at night to feel he has a spirit in the house and is afraid there. As a true gentleman she will offer her to come and help her. His help arrives late, Iris Cobb died of a heart attack before he could talk to her personally. But, as it seems, his acquaintance was murdered. Nothing except Qwill's supposed to say anything. From this moment on, the journalist is determined to come up with a mystery and joins the orphaned house along with the cats.
Další podivné náhody na sebe nenechají dlouho čekat, ale brzy je zřejmé, že za vším stojí lidé se zlými úmysly a nikoli nadpřirozené síly. Dokáže novinář zabránit věcem, které se mají teprve stát, nebo zklame další, kterým slíbil pomoc?
Other strange accidents do not allow themselves to wait long, but it soon becomes obvious that people with evil intentions and not supernatural powers stand behind everything. Can a journalist prevent things that are yet to happen or disappoint others who have promised help?
